ArmInfo. About 460 million drams will be spent on printing ballots. Head of the Central Election Commission of Armenia Tigran Mukuchyan stated this on July 4 in an interview with journalists.
According to him, it is planned to print about 70 million ballots due to the large number of political forces that have expressed a desire to take part in the elections. At the same time, he assured that at the end of the elections they will present the costs in detail. Mukuchyan added that about 80% of all costs are spent on salaries.
When asked to assess the activity of electoral processes, Mukuchyan recalled that a lot of political forces showed interest in the upcoming June 20 elections, the Central Election Commission of Armenia registered 26 electoral competitors - 22 parties and 4 blocs of parties that will take part in the elections.
"In a number of cases, in connection with individual candidates, decisions were made to refuse registration, since they did not submit the relevant documents," the head of the CEC said.
Referring to the issue of registration of candidate for MP Mihran Poghosyan, included in the list of the "I have the honor" bloc, and the information that the latter had submitted a fake document, the head of the CEC noted: <As for individual cases, when the factual grounds for each of them are identified, the CEC will organize discussions and appropriate decisions will be made. Everything will happen at our meetings, openly and publicly>.
In this vein, he once again recalled that candidates and political forces can submit applications for self- rejection by June 10. According to Mukuchyan, there are already separate applications for self-withdrawal from different lists.
Speaking about the election campaign, he recalled that the campaign will last only 12 days, in case of any violations of the rules by the forces participating in the elections, the Central Election Commission shouldreact very quickly and promptly, especially in terms of prevention. "We will appeal to all parties, because we believe that the campaign should be organized and carried out in the area of good manners," Mukuchyan said.
