ArmInfo. The place, which, judging by all the latest geopolitical tendencies in the South Caucasus, Russia is so consistently preparing for Turkey, should be occupied by France, which sooner or later will be. A similar opinion was expressed to ArmInfo by representative of the "National Democratic Pole" Zhirayr Sefilyan.
"The consistently tightening of the encirclement around Putin's Russia, the absence of allies of this regime, are only part of the tendencies in favor of such a scenario. There are enough tendencies in favor of Russia's withdrawal from our region. After all, the appearance of the same Turkey in the South Caucasus for the first time in the last hundred years was exclusively with Moscow's consent," he stressed.
According to his forecasts, sooner or later Russia will leave the South Caucasus and this, first of all, should concern Armenia today, At least because, the withdrawal of Russia will be accompanied by the inevitable arrival of Turkey. That is why today Armenia, in the opinion of the politician, needs real allies more than ever. Sefilyan is convinced that if Armenia is not ready Russia's leaving today, then the vacuum formed after its departure will inevitably be filled by Turkey.
The representative of the "National Democratic Pole" sees in the recent geopolitical processes a number of prerequisites for the consolidation of the collective West in another arena of global confrontation with Russia in Ukraine. And according to his forecasts, after the solution of the Ukrainian question, the turn of the South Caucasus will inevitably come.
Commenting on the last European voyage of acting Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the oppositionist noted that one should not expect any changes in the European agenda of Armenia, or rather in its absence, from Pashinyan, or especially from his visit. However, the statements from Paris that preceded this visit and made on its results, in his opinion, allow predicting a rather serious French presence in Armenia in the near future, moreover, not only economic, but also military.
According to Sefilyan's assessments, the Armenian authorities periodically reject all the initiatives of the West in the direction of increasing its presence in the country. But in the Armenian society, albeit not on the desired scale, there is still an understanding of the situation. And Western intervention in the same current, unacceptable situation at the borders is also possible, in the event that Armenia asks for this help, for a start, at least at the public level. According to the politician, this is becoming a necessity.
"It is clear that while the Pashinyans are in power, there will be no official appeal. Accordingly, the key to the formation of this appeal is getting rid of the Pashinyans. I consider Pashinyan's visit to Paris and Brussels in the context of the election campaign. Obviously, in this way he wants to demonstrate to voters what today there is simply no the presence of a European vector in his own policy. In reality, Pashinyan visit to Europe in order not to interfere with the implementation of the anti-Armenian Russian-Turkish plan. And very soon it will become finally clear what this is about, "Sefilyan summed up. On June 1 in Paris, RA acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with French President Emmanuel Macron, Speaker of the French National Assembly Richard Ferrand, Senate President Gerard Larcher, Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo. On June 2, Pashinyan left for Brussels, where he met with his Belgian counterpart Alexander De Croo.
