ArmInfo.Always and everywhere, the development of a solution to any problem formulated by the political leadership of Armenia should be dealt with by specialists and professionals, former Foreign Minister of the Republic of Artsakh, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Arman Melikyan expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.
"Everyone should mind their own business. And of course, be responsible, both for their own actions, and for their absence. We finally need to realize the differences between professional experts and various would-be experts. This need is especially important in the current, very complex, domestic, foreign and geopolitical situation, which Armenia faces, "he stressed.
In this light, Melikyan noted diplomacy as a very flexible tool that makes it possible to build new, advantageous dispositions, even after the most difficult defeats. According to the diplomat, from a professional point of view, it is obvious that the RA Foreign Minister Ara Aivazian, who resigned a few days ago, took up his duties in a situation in which the diplomatic field also seemed completely failed. And there was not even a hint from Yerevan of the need to determine the status or restore the territorial integrity of Artsakh.
Ara Aivazian submitted his resignation on May 27. According to insider information, the reason for the resignation was the contradictions with Prime Minister Pashinyan. On May 31, Aivazian's deputy Gagik Ghalachyan and his Spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan resigned. Saying goodbye to the Foreign Ministry staff on May 31, Aivazian said that he resigned in order to avoid suspicions that the Foreign Ministry might approve initiatives directed against the national and state interests of Armenia. There is unverified information about the resignation of the other three deputy heads of the department. According to the diplomat, the problem of the status and restoration of Artsakh's sovereignty, at least within the borders of NK, again became a part of the international agenda precisely during the period of Aivazian's tenure. The OSCE Minsk Group has also become more active, considering these issues as part of the negotiating agenda. According to Melikyan's estimates, thus, the former Foreign Minister and his team on the diplomatic front managed to transform the defeat into the formation of a negotiating platform beneficial for Armenia. Moreover, to provide Yerevan with the political support of a number of states. "Aivazian's farewell speech at the Foreign Ministry, in all likelihood, means the existence of contradictions between him and the acting Prime Minister of Armenia around certain foreign policy issues and methods of solving them. It is possible that Nikol Pashinyan made decisions regarding foreign policy without notifying the foreign minister about them. The latter is a very dangerous step and evidence of the deepening administrative crisis in Armenia, "he stressed.
According to Melikyan, in the situation in which Armenia continues to be, any member of the government, including the prime minister, must clearly and fully realize the degree of his own responsibility for the decisions made. Accordingly, avoiding steps that could threaten the national and state interests of Armenia. In this light, he noted that if the head of the Foreign Ministry found the initiatives and steps of the prime minister contradicting his own professional ideas about the interests of the state, then by resigning he not only emphasized his disagreement, but also pointed out the real initiator of these steps, responsible for them.
