ArmInfo. The new Armenian air carrier plans to launch its first flight in summer," the press service of the multi-profile SIL GROUP Company told ArmInfo. The Company, together with the Moldovan FlyOne airline, will soon enter the Armenian market of passenger air transportation under the FlyOne ARMENIA brand name - a new airline that meets international standards and will act as the country's national air carrier.
According to the SIL Group statement, FlyOne Armenia LLC, according to the procedure, applied for a certificate of the aircraft operator in early spring.
It was reported that on the morning of May 26, the first Airbus A320 of FlyOne Armenia Air Fleet arrived at Yerevan Zvartnots International Airport to undergo the necessary technical inspection.
According to the report, the entry of FlyOne Armenia into the sector of aviation in Armenia will allow the citizens of the country to travel at incomparably more affordable prices. The new operator is ready to offer its passengers those directions that are most in demand in the Armenian market.
The Moldovan FLYONE airline (www.flyone.eu) was founded in 2016. Being a young company, it managed in a very short time to become one of the leaders of the aviation market in the Republic of Moldova. During 2018 - 2020, the company was repeatedly included in the TOP-10 of the most reputable airlines in EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa).
Mircea Maleca, a Moldovan businessman and director of FlyOne, said that the first attempt to use his own aircraft began with an aircraft registered in Armenia and owned by an Armenian company. "When we just started to form our own airline, it made us think about the Armenian market, study it. Taking into account our connections - friends, partners, businessmen, as well as the fact that the Armenian market is very similar to the Moldovan one, we began to consider this opportunity from a commercial, financial, and now from a transactional point of view. While studying the Armenian aviation market, we noticed a very strange thing. Armenia does not have its own full-fledged airline that could provide its citizens with services at incomparably low prices. There is no airline in Armenia that could offer a global network, regardless of the direction of the flights. "We would like to note that the company has already taken active steps, there are all positive prerequisites for FlyOne Armenia to be able to fly to European destinations," the businessman said. "None of the Armenian airlines can combine the terms "high quality" and "affordable price" at the same time. "We are confident that by combining the experience of our Moldovan partners with the work of the long-term, knowledgeable and experienced team of the SIL Group, we will achieve excellent results in the open air, provide a geographically wide network, offering high-quality services to the aviation market, the price is incomparably more affordable ", said representative SIL Group Sona Soghomonyan. She noted that everything possible will be done so that the composition of the airline is formed mainly of Armenian specialists. "This, first of all, will create the preconditions for the revival of the Armenian national aviation sector." Soghomonyan also stressed that the creation of a national air carrier will allow the restoration of the institution of the Armenian national flight crew, which in Soviet times was considered one of the most qualified. The prerequisites will be created for the restoration of the training system for aviation specialties in our country, which, in turn, will make it possible to ensure a generational change in the aviation sector. "With the creation of FlyOne Armenia, at the first stage, about 135 high-paying jobs will be created, and this number, of course, will tend to increase," Soghomonyan added.
Relatively high prices for air tickets still dominate the Armenian market, and since the model of the new airline is budgetary, it is expected that it will become the most comfortable air vehicle for the population and business environment of Armenia. "This will be a powerful incentive for the development of tourism, as our pricing policy will contribute to affordable air travel. We have noticed that due to the high cost of transport services, people often use tiresome car and bus services when traveling long distances. Considering all this, we will create maximum flexibility in the field, we will propose new routes, which in turn will contribute to the development of inbound and outbound tourism>, emphasized the representative of the SIL Group.
