ArmInfo. In my opinion, opinion polls promising majority to Nikol Pashinyan in the parliament of the future convocation do not reflect the real pre-election situation. Ani Samsonyan, lawmaker of the Bright Armenia parliamentary faction, expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.
"I don't think he has such a level of support today. In general, opinion polls in Armenia have never reflected the real situation, which is due to the traditional fears of our citizens regarding the publication of their own opinions and future choices. But this is not the main problem. The main problem is that if these predictions come true and Pashinyan takes power again, absolutely nothing will happen in the lives of our citizens in our country, "she said.
Meanwhile, the Armenian voters, according to her, today are still focused on changes, on reforms, on positive changes. Moreover, both in the life of the country and in his own life. However, the passive- demoralizing behavioral line demonstrated by the authorities, according to the lawmaker's forecasts, will continue after the early elections. The only difference is that it only adds an extra bit of empty-space self- confidence.
Thus, Pashinyan's re-election and his political power even after the war, the loss of territories and human lives, according to Samsonyan, will only endow them with an even greater degree of self-confidence. And accordingly, a greater degree of disrespect for political and other opponents, which, according to her forecasts, may well be crowned with repressions.
Another problem, in her opinion, is the prevention of previous revanchist forces from coming to power following the results of early elections. Since the reincarnation of forces from the past in power, according to the parliamentarian's forecasts, will lead to a revenge against the current government. The latter will lead to the impossibility of resolving the real problems of Armenia and the Armenian society. According to Samsonyan, one does not need to go far for an example - in 2018, the same Pashinyan, instead of resolving institutional problems, preferred to engage in senseless persecution of the "former regime".
"We see today how all this ended. Therefore, I don't think that such post-election prospects come from our interests. All this poisonous atmosphere will simply lead us into an internal political crisis with all the accompanying dubious charms. Therefore, it is very important to realize and indicate the real culprits the current situation and prevent them from re-emerging in power. Someone must be held accountable for all our losses and sacrifices. Otherwise, we simply will not be able to move forward, because our people still continue to seek justice, "the MP concluded.
