In particular, she explained that according to the changes, vaccinated citizens of the Republic of Armenia will no longer need to take a PCR test when entering or leaving the country. "Vaccination is an important step and a way to free yourself from restrictions and return to normal living conditions," she stressed. In this regard, the Minister recalled the introduction of an electronic system, under which vaccinated citizens will be provided with appropriate certificates. As a result, according to Avanesyan, it will be possible to forget about the isolation regime and freely enter and leave the country.
At the request of journalists, the head of the health department also touched on the statement of the head of government on vaccination, noting that the prime minister did not say anything about coercion. "There was a call to start with a personal example," she said.
Armenia has previously imported 24 thousand doses of the British-Swedish AstraZeneca vaccine and 15 thousand doses of the Russian Sputnik V. The day before, another batch of the Russian vaccine was received for another 14 thousand people. In addition, Armenia has already received 100 thousand doses of the Chinese vaccine, which is provided for 50 thousand people. The drug was provided to Armenia free of charge, the Armenian side only organized the transportation. There is also a preliminary agreement on the purchase of the Novavax vaccine (USA), but the terms and cost of the drug are not specified.
As previously stated by the head of the Health Department of Armenia Anahit Avanesyan, it is planned to vaccinate 20% of the population in Armenia by the end of 2021. As of today, 2,690 citizens have been vaccinated in Armenia.
It should be noted that as of 11: 00 on April 29, the total number of patients with coronavirus in Armenia was 215,528 (22%), the number of recovered patients reached 197,171 (91.5%), and deaths - 4,087 (1.8%). Since the outbreak of the pandemic, 979,060 coronavirus tests have been conducted in the republic.
