ArmInfo.Deeply convinced of this, I affirm that in a few years the interests of Armenia and Russia will again coincide. Then Moscow will take steps positive for us. Including in the issue of Artsakh. Political scientist Stepan Grigoryan expressed this opinion to ArmInfo.
"But today these interests do not coincide. This also has to be stated. And now why should we abandon Artsakh because of this? To refuse from it just because Russian President Vladimir Putin openly says that Artsakh is not ours? I think that the words of the Russian president cannot and should not be a law for our society. It is necessary to fight against such stereotypes. Otherwise, they will simply destroy our country, "he said.
In this light, Grigoryan noted that today anyone who opposes his own opinion to the Kremlin's opinion, especially a politician, is immediately accused of anti-Russian sentiments. Meanwhile, in his opinion, the very fact of refusal to recognize Artsakh as Azerbaijani is a manifestation of a pro-Armenian, but in no way anti-Russian position. And first of all, representatives of the "former authorities" are trying to stick labels on opponents by accusing of Russophobia anyone who dares to assert that the Artsakh issue has in no way been resolved.
"I understand perfectly well when such impulses come from Russia. This is due to the temporary, tactical discrepancy between the interests of the empire and the interests of Armenia. But when such impulses come from Armenia itself- that's just terrible. In this light, the lack of response on the part of our parliament and political forces to the latest statements of the Russian leadership causes extreme concern, "he stressed. In such conditions, the Armenian people will have to defend the interests of Armenia, according to the political scientist, with their own voice at the early parliamentary elections scheduled for June 20. In this light, Grigoryan calls on voters to vote for political forces that assert the need to resume the work of the OSCE Minsk Group and call for diversification of military-technical cooperation, for a multi-vector foreign policy. All this is in no way a manifestation of anti-Russian policy. And in this light, in his opinion, it is extremely important to send appropriate messages to Russia.
