Ruben Vardanyan presented 2 scenarios for the development of events  in Armenia after mass protests

ArmInfo. Now the residents of  Armenia have to choose among those politicians who cause the least  rejection in them. This was stated in an interview with RBC by a  well-known Russian entrepreneur and philanthropist, one of the  founders of the Skolkovo Moscow School of Management Ruben Vardanyan.

<This is a very dangerous moment when you choose not on a positive   agenda, but because if only there was no one or the other. Now I do   not want to give an assessment, because it is Armenia's internal  affairs - to choose leaders for oneself. But the question is that the  alternative should be one that people should feel and see that there  are not only one and the other, ”Vardanyan said. In this vein, he  expressed the hope that the conflict between the head of government  and his opponents will not lead to casualties. In an interview with  RBC, the Russian businessman also noted that in Armenia they talk  about the past all the time, without discussing the country's future.  “There is an option that we can become a very quiet, not very active  place, where 1.5-2 million people will remain, where the same $ 2   billion in aid will be sent from the Diaspora. People will live  better because fewer people will have more money coming in because  more people have left. It will be such, I would say, a country   similar to Abkhazia, ”Vardanyan suggested. The businessman called   this scenario "absolutely realistic", since, according to his data,   200 thousand people intend to leave Armenia this year, and another  200-300 thousand are thinking about it.

He noted that the population of the Republic is now slightly less   than 3 million people. <These people vote with their feet. They do   not believe that they themselves or their children will achieve   success in this country, ”he said. According to Vardanyan, in this   scenario, passive people will remain in the country who will live   badly, but in general will be satisfied with everything. As the   businessman noted, you quickly get used to help from abroad: “It's   like a drug. As imputed income, only here it is not the state that   gives you, but your relatives>.

At the same time, according to Vardanyan, another scenario is still  possible, in which Armenia will become a unique successful example of  interaction between the state and society. However, in this case,   according to the businessman, a more active participation of the   Diaspora in the life of the country is necessary.

“Not just from Moscow, from St. Petersburg, from Paris or from Los   Angeles to criticize and say how bad it is here. Or send a small   amount of money and feel that their conscience is clear. Are they  ready to get up, come? Moreover, to come not as ministers, but to  come to the village, ”Vardanyan asked. He noted that we are talking   about hundreds of thousands of people. “We are not talking about  several dozen top managers who will come to Armenia and make it a  paradise. This is a change in the whole model of the fact that,   "guys, we will figure it out here ourselves, and you sometimes come  to us, look at Mount Ararat, cry, eat barbecue and go back,"  Vardanyan expressed his confidence.
