ArmInfo. The beginning of the end of Nikol Pashinyan's career began from the moment he took office and from the moment his new government was formed. The end was predetermined at least by the fact that Pashinyan, having absolute power and legitimacy, could not unite the elite, all the forces of society, the Diaspora in order to put forward a real development program. Former Prime Minister of Armenia, Rector of the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University Armen Darbinyan stated this in an interview with the international edition of the Federal News Agency.
According to the rector of the RAU, everything else was a matter of time: "Almost the entire thinking part of the Armenian society opposed: the Diaspora, Catholicos, the President, the Academy of Sciences. In the end - the General Staff. This is not the beginning of the end, but the end of the end. Everything is natural, and the further Nikol Pashinyan moves towards the destruction of the Armenian statehood, the more they oppose him>.
Answering the question of what, in this case, Pashinyan relies on, the former Prime Minister noted that Pashinyan keeps the power due to the fear of Armenians that things could get even worse. This is another proof that Armenia has been developing incorrectly all this time.
Meanwhile, developing the theme of the outright Russophobia of the current prime minister's team, Darbinyan stressed that the completely unexpected coming to power of Pashinyan and his team is the result of the interaction of two directions. Firstly, this is the rejection of the previous government, and secondly, the lack of interaction between Moscow and Pashinyan before he came to power.
"I cannot say whose agent he is, but the fact that this group of people is absolutely far from Russia and understanding the essence of Russian-Armenian interaction is a fact. And the interaction between him and the Russian Federation is forced. Pashinyan would be happy to abandon this interaction at any time, "Darbinyan said.
The rector expressed his disagreement with the fact that anti-Russian sentiments in Armenia during Pashinyan's tenure received an impetus. "Only those who do not know Russia are afraid of it. And those forces in the West that are in the grip of anti-Russian propaganda, they do not know Russia. This means that they are afraid of it, and the very element of Russophobia arises. Pashinyan's team absolutely does not know Russia, does not understand the essence and priorities of the Russian-Armenian union, and therefore becomes anti-Russian or, if you like, Russophobic. As for the Armenian society, the anti-Russian sentiments in Armenia are so scanty that in percentage terms they can be considered a statistical error, "Darbinyan stressed.
He noted that the country was simply unlucky that the so-called "velvet" revolution took place, but in fact - a "color" revolution, and people who did not know Russia came to power. This does not mean that their activities can somehow increase the percentage of Russophobes among Armenians. Moreover, Pashinyan's failed activities will increase Russia's supporters in Armenia.
Speaking about the influence of "Soros" on Armenian politics and on Armenia in general, the rector of the RAU noted that Nikol Pashinyan personally and his team interacts with these organizations, and they do it publicly. People associated with Soros get high positions in the public administration system. All this, of course, leads to an increase in the influence of these organizations on domestic and foreign policy decisions. "I'll say more, Armenia should follow the example of Hungary and close all these Soros funds to hell. They contribute to the destabilization of the situation in the country and do not help the systemic, correct, necessary development of Armenia, "said Armen Darbinian.
