Thus, Bekaryan's lawyer Gor Mikaelyan on his Facebook page wrote that his client was detained in an already known case.
"A complaint about the legality of the detention of my client was filed in the evening to the court of first instance of the city of Yerevan. I declare that mine Karen Bekaryan's client has nothing to do with the Facebook fake. If he needs to say something, he always says it openly on his own behalf, not hiding under a fake, " - said Mikaelyan.
It should be noted that yesterday evening, the NSS of Armenia conducted searches in the houses and offices of political scientist, co-founder of the media holding "Karyak Media" Karen Bekaryan, former head of the parliamentary apparatus Ara Saghatelyan and his assistant Mher Avagyan, expert on geopolitics of the South Caucasus Angela Elibegovu on constitutional law specialist Melibegovu and legal specialist ... As human rights activist Ruben Melikyan told journalists in the evening, the above persons are accused of violating the rules for disseminating information during martial law and spreading interethnic hostility and hatred. Melikyan said that the lawyers of the detainees intend to appeal the decisions on the detention, while calling the process political persecution.
At night, Angela Elibekova and Gohar Meloyan were released after interrogation. Elibekova said that her laptop and mobile phone were confiscated.
"I have no idea about what is happening and I do not know why I ended up in the building of the National Security Service. They seized my personal phone and work computer, which contained working information, including information about the war crimes of Azerbaijan, which I had to hand over to the Ombudsman of Armenia," Elibegova told reporters.
In turn, Meloyan added that at first in their offices a search was carried out, after which they were subjected to a drive, without showing the court's decision to conduct a search. "I can't say within whom the search was carried out. They confiscated a number of personal belongings, computers, fully examined the folders where they were not interested materials, "she said, adding that they were interrogated as suspects and they refused to testify.
