ArmInfo. Karabakh families who found temporary shelter in Armenia, from March 15, for four months will receive benefits. The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the Armenian government on February 18.
According to the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Mesrop Arakelyan, the amount of assistance for each person, including minor children will amount to 68 thousand drams. The assistance cannot be used by males aged 18 to 63 years without disabilities. Pensioners and people with disabilities do not need to apply to receive benefits, they will receive benefits automatically along with pensions or disability benefits. The rest of the citizens will be able to submit electronic applications on the online.ssa.am portal from February 25. The issuance of new benefits will begin on March 15, by non-cash method (to bank cards).
The Minister stressed that the allowance of 68 thousand drams was previously issued to refugees from Karabakh, but it was a one-time payment, and they were able to take advantage of about 100 thousand people. Now the grant will be issued for four months. In addition, Mesrop Arakelyan recalled, 35-37 thousand people who are now unable to return to their homes located on the territory that came under the control of Azerbaijan will receive a one-time support of 300 thousand drams. 30 thousand people have already received these amounts, and about 7 thousand more should receive. The inaccuracy in determining their number arose due to the fact that some of them were registered not in the territories that passed to Azerbaijan, but in Armenia or in Karabakh.
In total, as the minister noted, about 20 programs are being implemented to assist the residents of Artsakh- Karabakh, the total amount of which was 25 billion drams, of which 21.5 billion has already been allocated. Taking into account 4-month benefits, the total budget of support will make 55 billion drams.
