ArmInfo. Contacts have already begun with companies from Great Britain, and one of them has already been involved in urban planning and infrastructure development in the liberated territories, President Ilham Aliyev said, receiving British Secretary of State for European Affairs Wendy Morton in Baku on Tuesday, as reported by "Turan".
Aliyev expressed hope that the number of British companies operating in the liberated territories will grow. "The liberated territories have great potential in the field of renewable energy. I know that British companies are showing interest, there is a lot of potential for solar, wind and water energy. I have already declared these territories a "green zone" and the energy of wind, sun and water will be used there, "Aliyev said.
Morton, for her part, noting the high level of bilateral cooperation in many areas, expressed confidence that these ties will definitely expand.
Meanwhile, let us remind that Britain made its bitter contribution to the 44-day Azerbaijan-Karabakh war. It turned out to be the only country that voted against the consideration of a resolution by the UN Security Council, with the help of which it was possible to suspend hostilities, sit at the negotiating table and save thousands of lives.
