In this regard, I would like to inform the public that the state bodies of Artsakh are currently engaged in the formation of professional military units on a contract basis with the aim of protecting our borders. "
The Secretary of the Security Council also touched upon the fears of some circles that, for example, the Krkzhan and Ajapnyak districts of Stepanakert or the Ivanyan village of the Askeran region in the near future will be inhabited by Azerbaijani families. Balasanyan stated that such conversations are groundless. He also assured that the NKR authorities will continue to do everything to ensure the safety of their citizens and borders.
Days earlier, on his Facebook page, former Armenian Ambassador to the Vatican Mikael Minasyan said that RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan had already given their consent and the Artsakh Defense Army would soon be disbanded. "Whether it will formally be the Artsakh militia or the internal troops of the Artsakh guard or the police, it does not matter, the problem is that the rest of Artsakh will no longer have an independent opportunity to ensure its security. There will be no more Artsakh Army, and the only responsible and culprit is Nikol Pashinyan, who is completing his "mission", "wrote Minasyan.
