According to the minister, the purpose of the visit is to hold talks on regional cooperation and transit opportunities in Nakhchivan after the war in the Karabakh conflict zone. Zarif stressed that the region has created great opportunities for cooperation between neighboring states, which can lay the foundation for sustainable peace.
At this moment, Zarif is meeting with the chairman of the Supreme Assembly of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic Vasif Talibov. To note, within the framework of his trip to the region, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, in addition to Azerbaijan, also visited Russia, Armenia, Georgia and Turkey.
