ArmInfo. The vice-premiers of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia are planning to meet in Moscow on January 27 to discuss the construction of transport links in the South Caucasus. The Russian edition of RBC writes about this with reference to sources in the governments of Russia and Armenia.
The publication notes that Alexey Overchuk will take part in the negotiations from the Russian side, Mher Grigoryan from the Armenian side, and Shahin Mustafayev from the Azerbaijani side.
RBC sent inquiries to Overchuk's representative, the governments of Azerbaijan and Armenia. The parties agreed to create such a negotiation format on January 11, at the first personal meeting of the heads of three states after the end of the 44-day war in Nagorno-Karabakh - Russian President Vladimir Putin, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The main task of the participants in the format is to determine whether it is necessary to build or restore for the complete defrosting of transport links in the region.
The vice-premiers are to discuss several possible projects at once, in particular, the construction of a railway through the territory of Armenia, which will connect Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, as well as Armenia and Russia. The source of the publication added that in addition, the deputy prime ministers will discuss a proposal to link Armenia and Iran by rail through Nakhchivan.
