"We inform that there are no Armenians or RA citizens among the 4 killed and 11 injured persons in the explosion in a building in the center of Madrid," the Armenian Embassy emphasized, adding that the explosion took place in a building located 1 km from the Armenian diplomatic mission; the cause of the tragedy was gas leak.

As previously reported by the authorities, among the victims of the incident were two pedestrians who were on the street at the time of the explosion. The third victim is the technician who was checking the boiler. This morning it became known about the fourth victim - a priest. "In the early morning, a young priest, Ruben Perez Ayala, died and was admitted to hospital due to injuries sustained in the explosion," said a message posted on Twitter by the Archdiocese of Madrid on Thursday.
