ArmInfo. Russia is doing everything to ensure that a lasting peace is established in the Nagorno-Karabakh region. This was announced on December 16 at a briefing by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova.
According to her, the hope is expressed in Moscow that the parties to the conflict are aiming at the same goals. Zakharova stressed that the position of Russia was represented in Baku by the Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov, and the Charge d'Affaires of the Russian Federation in Armenia Alexei Sinegubov.
Referring to the question by the Public Television of Armenia about the statement of the speaker of the Azerbaijani parliament that "Russian peacekeepers have no right to hinder Azerbaijan in the anti-terrorist operation", Maria Zakharova noted that all statements made by the parties to the conflict should be aimed at achieving the main task - a long-term peace and full format settlement. "Each statement that is made must be weighed precisely from the point of view of what benefit or harm this statement can do," Maria Zakharova stressed. She added that important hard work has been done, and for this reason, it is necessary to weigh each word. All questions and problems can and should be resolved between the parties in a working order. "We maintain a dialogue with both Baku and Yerevan through all channels, and all emerging problems must be resolved in this vein," said the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
