The road through the Verkhniy Lars checkpoint continues to remain  closed for heavy trucks

There are difficult roads on the territory of Armenia.  Thus, according to the  message of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of  Armenia, travel is difficult along the roads leading to the Amberd  fortress and Lake Kari. In addition, the passage through the  Vardenyats pass is difficult for heavy trucks with trailers. Travel  is difficult for trucks on the Spitak passes due to icy conditions.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia,  referring to colleagues from Georgia and North Ossetia, reported that  the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for the passage of heavy  trucks. At the same time, the Armenian department recalled the  restrictive measures in force in Georgia due to the coronavirus  pandemic.

It is worth noting that due to unfavorable weather conditions the  road to Lars has been closed for the third day, a large number of  trucks have accumulated at the checkpoints both from Russia and from  Georgia.  The Ministry of Emergency Situations urged drivers to  travel on the roads of the republic exclusively on winter tires.
