ArmInfo.The French National Assembly adopted a resolution on the need to recognize the Republic of Artsakh, which was approved by the French Senate a week earlier. As reported by the Armenian Embassy in France, 188 MPs voted for the adoption of the resolution, and only 3 against.
According to the source, the resolution also says that Azerbaijan has failed the process of peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue and deployed mercenaries from terrorist groups in Artsakh with the support of Turkey.
To recall, on November 25, the French Senate voted almost unanimously to recognize the independence of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic. The resolution is of a recommendatory nature, and the last word in this matter belongs to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of France.
Yesterday, on December 2, the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the House of Representatives of the Belgian Parliament approved a draft resolution on the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Committee condemned Azerbaijan's aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh, which was actively supported by Turkey and foreign mercenaries. The resolution calls for the withdrawal of Azerbaijani troops from Nagorno-Karabakh and a return to negotiations on the status of the region within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group. This resolution will be submitted to the plenary session of the Belgian House of Representatives.
