ArmInfo.Next time the Armenian society will be much more attentive to the object of its own choice. Sociologist Karen Sargsyan expressed this opinion to ArmInfo.
"I don't think that our nation is frightened by what has happened in the last couple of months. For a people who have survived genocide, this cannot be a reason for fear. Two-thirds of our nation lives outside Armenia. This allows us to realize inside our country what we want, by receiving strong external support at the same time. We will elect a new ruling party, government, prime minister. If you don't like it, we will choose others, "he said.
Stressing the absence of clear, verified paths, successful situations that can be accurately projected for Armenia, the sociologist is convinced that it is impossible to apply the experience of one society or another. According to him, it is impossible to take and apply the same Singaporean experience in Armenia. Moreover, both completely and partially. Nevertheless, it is quite possible to adopt principles.
In the current internal political situation, Sargsyan attaches importance to the fact that the citizens of Armenia are looking for new people, new political faces. According to him, people are no longer going to follow the current government or its predecessors. Meanwhile, the very fact of the search, in his opinion, is already a sign of the brain's work, which is already a positive factor.
"The situation of lack of choice, lack of an alternative is far from new for us. We saw the same picture during the years of Serzh Sargsyan's rule. And today we have returned to the need to realize our own civic desires. What do we want for ourselves, our family, our country, where are we do we want to go? And only having formulated the answers to these questions for ourselves, we can choose one of the candidates as leaders, "he stressed.
Recalling that the Armenian people for the past hundreds of years no one has ever asked about their wishes and preferences, the sociologist emphasized the impossibility of changing this situation without the realization that the government is just a hired worker. "We must understand that the prime minister is just a person serving our interests and receiving a salary from us. We chose Nikol Pashinyan, and he did not live up to our trust. But life does not end there. And now we have to make a new choice until we reach the one we need. And Pashinyan has to leave and not interfere with this choice, "the sociologist summed up.
