ArmInfo. The settlement of the current internal political crisis in Armenia requires the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. However, in order for Pashinyan to leave, a new "Pashinyan" is needed. The resolution of such crisis situations, as a rule, requires the emergence of just such unexpected political figures. Russian political analyst Vadim Dubnov expressed this opinion to ArmInfo.
"At the same time, it is not clear where to get this newest Pashinyan today. Perhaps so far we simply do not imagine possible scenarios in this direction. And I do not exclude Moscow's involvement in this issue. Although I frankly do not understand why this could be Moscow needs it. In this light, I am inclined to believe that the name of the future prime minister in the early elections will still be determined by the citizens of Armenia, "he said.
In light of the emergence of the Russian presence in Artsakh and the weakening of the negotiating positions of Armenia, the analyst registered the changes in the Armenian-Russian relations as a fact. Nevertheless, Dubnov does not consider these changes to be dramatic, since in one way or another Yerevan has never refused Moscow in any question. Russia, in turn, in his opinion, has never abused this.
According to the expert, today Russia does not intend to receive anything from Armenia that could be used as a resource in one direction or another. And in the light of the absence of Moscow's demands contradicting the Armenian interests, dramatic changes in the issue of Armenia's sovereignty should not be expected.
Commenting on Russia's intentions regarding Artsakh, which is actually under its control, Dubnov assessed the current situation as very complex and ambivalent. In his opinion, at this stage Artsakh is partially in the status of South Ossetia. According to the analyst's forecasts, in the future Armenia will deal with the administrative issues of Artsakh. There is no need for Moscow to take on these issues. "In this light, some semblance of a Russian protectorate over Artsakh will be established. It suits everyone. Of course, in the future it will not be necessary to rule out the distribution of Russian passports to the population of Artsakh, however, I still think that everything will end with "Transnistria", "the Russian analyst concluded.
