ArmInfo.Turkey should not limit itself to words, but take real actions that will improve the situation in a number of regions of the world and will have a beneficial effect on its relations with the European Union. This opinion was expressed yesterday by French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian, speaking on the air of the French news channel LCL.
"The conciliatory statements made by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan over the past two or three days are absolutely not enough - we need real action," Le Drian said. Among these actions, as the French minister noted, there are "very simple actions that should be taken in the Mediterranean and in Libya, that is, there are also simple actions in relation to Nagorno-Karabakh," he noted, pointing out the importance of removing from its territory those Syrian militants who got there thanks to the assistance of Turkey.
"We have many disagreements with Turkey," the French Foreign Minister said. He pointed to the "expansionist aspirations" of this country, in particular the "fait accompli" policy in Libya, as well as similar actions in relation to the Eastern Mediterranean, where "Turkey is de facto carrying out aggressive actions against two EU member states."
"The European Union announced in October that it will check Turkey on a number of positions during the summit to be held in December, that is, in a few days. It is there that we will assess what is happening," Le Drian said.
