The Armenian Defense Ministry issues a controversial statement in  connection with the statements of General Movses Hakobyan

ArmInfo. The Armenian Defense Ministry issued a contradictory statement in connection with the revelations made the day before by the ex-head of the military  control service of the Russian Defense Ministry, the ex-head of the  General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces, the former head of  Artsakh AO, Colonel-General Movses Hakobyan.

Thus, in particular, the Armenian Defense Ministry assured that the  statements of Movses Hakobyan not only do not correspond to reality,  but also contain state secrets. This raises a completely rhetorical  question, if it does not correspond to reality, how can they contain  state secrets.

The statement of the Armenian Ministry of Defense also notes that  Hakobyan's statements also contain information about Armenia's  international cooperation in the defense sphere, the disclosure of  which endangers the country's defense capability.

"Hakobyan, who only for a short period, only half a year served as  the head of the department of the military control service of the  Ministry of Defense of Armenia and put his signature on the  agreements on the acquisition of weapons, is now trying to create the  impression that the department only acquired weapons and ammunition,  which were effectively used against the enemy," This, to put it  mildly, does not correspond to reality.

And even if the agreements on the acquisition of these weapons bear  the signature of Movses Hakobyan, it is more than obvious that  negotiations on their acquisition began long ago. At the very least,  it is unfair to ascribe this whole process to oneself, "the statement  of the RA Ministry of Defense says. In addition, according to the  assurance of the RA Ministry of Defense, the types of weapons  indicated by Hakobyan are periodically purchased by the Armenian side  and are not one-time.

"The former Chief of the General Staff of the Armenian Armed Forces  makes extremely dangerous statements, revealing the structure of the  Armed Forces and the peculiarities of the military parts. This is top  secret information, the disclosure of which involves criminal  penalties. In particular, according to Article 23 of the RA Law "On  State and Official Secrets", the rights of citizens who have the  right to access confidential information may be limited until they  disclose information provided for by law.  In other words, even if  Movses Hakobyan is no longer considered an official of the Ministry  of Defense, this does not mean that he can divulge state secrets,  "the RA Ministry of Defense noted.

The RA Ministry of Defense also rejected Hakobyan's claims regarding  the ineffectiveness of the Osa systems, as well as statements that  the Armenian side does not have missiles for the Su-30 SM fighters,  which were acquired after the Velvet Revolution. The RA Ministry of  Defense also called the fact that on the third day of the war  mobilization in the Armed Forces was stopped, and that the report  from the front line was 100% false.

"The Ministry of Defense clearly understands that during the war  unleashed against Artsakh, a number of mistakes and shortcomings were  made in the actions of the Armenian side, which are currently being  analyzed in detail. These are errors and shortcomings, some of which  are conceptual in nature, for which the former head is also  responsible. Of the General Staff Movses Hakobyan, at least during  his tenure.Nevertheless, we are convinced that it is inappropriate  for persons who have served in the country's defense system and held  high positions for many years to make frank accusations, divorced  from reality and dictated by the dictates of the times, or other  motives, against the institution, which continues to carry out the  most important mission of ensuring the country's security, "the RA  Defense Ministry summed up.  It should be noted that the former head  of the Military Control Service of the Ministry of Defense of  Armenia, the former Commander of the Defense Army, the former Chief  of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces Movses Hakobyan, who had  resigned the day before, told reporters today about the illiterate  organization of mobilization in the RA Armed Forces during military  operations, inappropriate purchases of weapons , about the conflict  with the wife of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia,  because of which he was suspended from work, because of the untimely  appeal to Russia for help during the hostilities, and much more.  General Hakobyan's revelations to some extent shed light on the dire  consequences of this war for the Armenian side.
