ArmInfo. The Russian Ministry of Defense has confirmed the crash of a Mi-24 helicopter in Armenia, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the military department, the helicopter crashed near the village of Yeraskh near the border of Azerbaijan. It accompanied a convoy of the Russian military base in Armenia and was subjected to fire from the ground from a portable anti-aircraft missile system. The crash killed two crew members, another was evacuated with moderate injuries.
The command of the 102nd Russian military base establishes the identity of those shooting at the helicopter.
Earlier, the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that information about the helicopter crash was received by the department at 6:30pm. Two people were killed.
