Zarif: Iran is concerned about the appearance of extremists in the  Karabakh conflict zone

ArmInfo.Tehran expects a response from the parties involved on the part of Iran's proposed peace plan to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Thus, Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif, returning from  Venezuela, in an interview with reporters answering a question about  the possible mediation of the Iranian side in the Karabakh  settlement, recalled that the special envoy of the President Abbas  Araghchi had already visited Baku, Yerevan, Ankara and Moscow, where  he presented in detail a proposal on mediation.

"Our proposal detailing the steps to be taken is on the table and is  being considered by the two countries and their neighbors, Turkey and  Russia, and we are awaiting their response," Zarif said, quoted by  isna.ir.  In addition, the Iranian Foreign Minister commented on the  country's position on the situation around Karabakh and how this  issue affects the stability of Iran. In particular, he said: "This is  happening on our borders. We made it clear that the occupation is  unacceptable and the change of international borders is unacceptable.  However, we are primarily concerned about the death of people and  damage to the civilian population. We are also concerned about the  emergence of extremist organizations at the conflict area and their  participation in hostilities. This is a threat not only to Iran, but  also to the whole world and stability in the region. Therefore, we  believe that this war must end. "-
