
ArmInfo. Armenia is ready to continue to take effective steps aimed at creating favorable conditions for expanding promising areas of mutually beneficial cooperation within the CIS member states. Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan stated this at an online meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the Commonwealth of Independent States.
As Grigoryan noted, it is known that every economic turbulence on a global scale is simultaneously an incentive for the development of new approaches, innovations and capitalization of scientific achievements. And in this regard, Armenia attaches particular importance to the cooperation of the CIS member states in innovation, educational, informational and other spheres.
"Taking into account that digitalization, innovation and technology development are among the priority areas in our country, the Armenian side expresses its readiness to deepen cooperation within the framework of high technology development programs. In this context, Armenia attaches great importance to the adoption of the Interstate Program for Innovative Cooperation of the CIS Member States for the period up to 2030 and the signing of the Agreement on Information Interaction of the CIS Member States in the Field of Digital Development, "Grigoryan stressed.
According to him, the Armenian side also supports the adoption of the documents proposed for the meeting, regulating and aimed at improving the already existing mechanisms of interested interaction in various fields, in particular, in the field of creation and development of a joint air defense system, the use of atomic energy for peaceful purposes. , ensuring transport security during international transportation in the territories of the CIS states.
Grigoryan also touched upon the Plan of Priority Actions in the Sphere of Humanitarian Cooperation for the next two years, which Armenia sees as the next step in strengthening ties and expanding contacts in the humanitarian sphere.
"We attach great importance to the adoption of the Action Plan for the implementation of the first five-year stage of the Economic Development Strategy, aimed at developing the economy and interstate trade and economic cooperation, which also contains measures to minimize the negative consequences of the pandemic for the economies of the CIS countries," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Accordingly, as Grigoryan emphasized, Armenia attaches particular importance to cooperation in the field of health care, preservation, restoration and improvement of the population's health, health protection and sanitary and epidemiological well-being, development and strengthening of interstate relations in the field of medicine.
In conclusion, Grigoryan expressed Armenia's readiness, together with the countries of the Commonwealth, to synchronize efforts in the fight against the pandemic and increase its effectiveness.
