ArmInfo. Turkey views the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as an opportunity to project its influence on another neighboring region - the South Caucasus. Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakayan stated this in an interview with RIA Novosti, answering a question about the possibility of Turkey's involvement in negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the conflict.
"No one, including Turkey itself, can say that it acted as an impartial or neutral player in the context of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict," he said. In this context, Mnatsakanyan noted that it was Turkey, that even before Azerbaijan expressed its opinion on this matter, rejected the call for an immediate cessation of hostilities put forward on October 1 by the presidents of the United States, Russia and France.
"Such a policy of using the conflict and inflicting enormous human suffering on the peoples of the region for the sake of projecting their power should be opposed, not encouraged," he stressed.
At the same time, the foreign minister added that there is irrefutable factual evidence of the presence and continued dispatch of foreign terrorist fighters by Turkey from Syria and Libya. This, he said, is confirmed by the intelligence data of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries and reports from the conflict zone itself.
