This is how press secretary of the Russian president Dmitry Peskov commented on the US ceasefire statements in Nagorno-Karabakh, IZ.ru reports. "Of course, Russia, as a co-chair of the group, is ready to welcome any steps that will help stop the war," Peskov said.
Yesterday, US President Donald Trump, speaking to voters in New Hampshire, called the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh an "easy case" and promised to "deal with" it. He stressed that Washington is working on a peaceful settlement between Baku and Yerevan.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote on his Facebook page that the Armenian side will observe the ceasefire. "As agreed yesterday in Washington DC with the mediation of the United States, from 08:00 the Armenian side will maintain the full ceasefire," the head of the Armenian government said.
Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan also stated about Karabakh's readiness for a humanitarian truce. "I welcome the agreement reached through the mediation of the United States of America and with the participation of the Co-Chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group affirming the commitments of the respective parties to implement a humanitarian ceasefire, agreed on October 10 and October 17 at the initiative of the presidents of the Russian Federation and the French Republic. The Republic of Artsakh, as the party to the Azerbaijan-Karabakh conflict, confirms its readiness to comply, on a reciprocal basis, with the terms of the humanitarian ceasefire, set to take effect on October 26, 2020 at 08:00," Karabakh President Arayik Harutyunyan said on his Facebook page.
