Prime Minister`s Advisor: Azerbaijani-Turkish tandem planned to shut  Nagorno-Karabakh out from Armenia and solve its tasks

ArmInfo. The large-scale military aggression of Azerbaijan against Artskh should be viewed in the prism of Turkey's geopolitical interests. Advisor to the Prime  Minister of Armenia Vagharshak Harutyunyan has such an opinion.

He stated that today not only Azerbaijan, but also Turkey is  operating in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, which is  fulfilling its geopolitical goals. According to him, it is not a  secret for anyone that Turkey is trying to create Turan, which was  openly stated by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and that all  international actors are well aware of this.

"The Azerbaijani-Turkish tandem, starting hostilities, planned to go  in two directions, to reach the borders of Armenia and block the  Lachin corridor, thereby shutting Nagorno-Karabakh out from the  Republic of Armenia and solving its tasks. However, the assessment of  12 days of combat missions allows us to say with confidence that this  tandem could not even fulfill the task of the first day, "the adviser  to the Armenian prime minister said.

At the same time, Harutyunyan believes that the main forces of the  enemy have been transferred to the southern flank of the front, since  the geopolitical tasks of Turkey are being implemented, which is  trying to reach Meghri. "Having reached Meghri, Turkey will then try  to unite with Nakhijevan. The second task is to cut off Iran from  this border and take its place. We will not forget that many Iranian  Azerbaijanis live in this direction in Iran, therefore these actions  pose a threat to Tehran as well." - said the adviser to the Armenian  Prime Minister, while pointing out that Azerbaijan has already ceased  to act as a full-fledged international actor, since when the OSCE  Minsk Group co-chairs address Baku, the answer comes from Turkey.  At  the same time, Harutyunyan believes that the Armenian side during  these 12 days acted successfully, not allowing the enemy to break  through defenses and disrupting its plans. According to him, even if  the enemy achieved some small tactical successes, it did not achieve  any advantages, and the Armenian Armed Forces stopped all their  actions, successfully repelling the attacks, and inflicting a  powerful counterattack, inflicting serious losses in manpower and  equipment.

Harutyunyan added that Armenian diplomacy has also achieved success,  since it was able to demonstrate to the international community  Turkey's involvement in this aggression. "Our diplomacy was able to  prove not only Turkey's involvement in the conflict, but also that it  is sending terrorists from Syria and Libya there. In all this, the  pan-Turkist aspirations of Erdogan are obvious, who openly announced  his intention to restore the Ottoman Empire. This is certainly a  threat to us and Russia, of course. Because after us the North  Caucasus will flare up, then it will go on the other side of the  Caspian Sea. And naturally, Europe is well aware of this threat. It  is a threat to them too, "Harutyunyan said.

The prime minister's adviser also believes that the main condition  for the start of this aggression was that Russia will not interfere  in hostilities. However, according to him, President Putin's  statement that Russia has certain obligations to Armenia, which it  will have to fulfill in case of a threat become a "cold shower" for  the enemy.
