Ruben Vardanyan asked Putin to intervene: Local conflict in Karabakh  is a geopolitical time bomb

ArmInfo.Russian businessman with Armenian roots, founder of Troika Dialog and co-founder of the Skolkovo Moscow School of Management Ruben Vardanyan made a video message in which he called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to  intervene in the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, where the fighting  has been going on for the second week.

Except for the President of Russia, Vardanyan also addressed the  peoples of Russia, the military leadership of the Russian Federation,  the authorities and people of Georgia, and Armenian politicians.

"Mr. Putin, I want to address you as a citizen of Russia, and I have  no other passport. I've been seeing you once when laying the  foundation stone for a business school in Skolkovo. I have always  tried to be a good citizen of Russia and  I make every effort for  our country progress.  I know that you, as a leader, can do a lot.  And today, your participation, and your attitude to all this  determines a lot. I do not know what information you receive, who  advises you and what, but I want to say as a person, which represents  almost three million Armenians living in Russia, those Armenians  about whom you spoke with such pride more than once at a meeting with  the Armenian community. Believe me, this is not just some kind of  territorial conflict in the unrecognized Republic. This is not a war  between Armenia and Azerbaijan. This is much more serious. And if it  happens that this catastrophe ends in disaster, then believe me, for  Russia it will be an incurable wound. I expect that Russia will not  only to help, but also understand that participation in this process  is fundamentally important for us - for Russians.

Not for Armenians, not for Armenia, but for the entire Russian  people, because the local conflict in Karabakh is a geopolitical time  bomb that will explode, and, unfortunately, it will explode primarily  in Russia. I am deeply convinced of this. Therefore, Mr.  Putin , I  just ask you as a person who is a citizen of the country where you  are the leader, intervene in this process, "Vardanyan said.

The businessman urged the international community to "do everything  to stop this war." "I am deeply convinced that if the international  community once again ignores this, as it seems to them, a small  problem of a small people, it will get a storm that will blow away a  huge number of countries and change the entire world order,"  Vardanyan warned, stressing that the issue must be resolved   aroundnegotiating table.

Vardanyan urged Georgia "not to do what would be a shame later", and  he called for the Azerbaijanis to understand that the war will  inevitably end, and "we will have to live together". "I want us all  to understand that we are standing on the edge of a huge abyss, a  humanitarian, human catastrophe. And this is not an issue of a  national war, it is not an issue of a territorial war, it is an issue  of preserving humanity and preserving basic human values, "the  businessman said.

At the same time, Vardanyan urged the Russian intelligentsia and the  military-political elite to support Nagorno-Karabakh and not destroy  Russia's "last allies".  Vardanyan urged the leadership and business  of Armenia to postpone the "internal showdown" and to consolidate.  Vardanyan asked young Armenians, especially those working in  technology companies, "to forget about their careers and their  successes for a while and stand next to the Armenian people here,  through their unique technological knowledge and capabilities."
