


ArmInfo. Israeli President Reuven Rivlin had a telephone conversation with the President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian on October 5. The conversation took place at the request of the RA President, the Jerusalem Post reports.
According to the source, the purpose of the conversation was to give impetus to dialogue between the two countries after Armenia withdrew its ambassador to Israel for consultations on the sale of Israeli weapons to Azerbaijan.
The Israeli President expressed regret at the outbreak of violence in the region and the presence of victims on both sides. He noted that has a long-standing relationship with Azerbaijan and that the cooperation between the two countries is not directed against any side. The President also stressed that Israel is still interested in developing relations with Armenia and is ready to provide assistance at the humanitarian level. Rivlin said that the country welcomes the opening of the Armenian Embassy in Israel and hopes that the Armenian Ambassador will return soon.
