ArmInfo. In connection with the large-scale offensive of Azerbaijan along the entire Artsakh-Azerbaijani line of contact, the European Friends of Armenia (EuFoA) NGO calls on the international community to recognize the seriousness of recent events and refrain from ordinary appeals to both sides based on false equivalence. This is stated in the official statement of EuFoA.
"Despite accusations by Baku and Ankara that Armenia launched this attack, there is no logic for Armenia to provoke any military action. However, the Azerbaijani leadership has repeatedly stated that it is tired and disappointed with the peace talks, which included doubts about the functioning of the peace talks, coordinated by the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs. These statements were accompanied by increasingly divisive rhetoric. Such different approaches on both sides were evident in the respective speeches made at the 75th session of the UN General Assembly. Repeatedly, the official position of Baku boiled down to the fact that they do not want to tolerate "a second Armenian state in its ancient lands," which even casts doubt on the right of the Armenian republic to exist, "the source noted.
The NGO "European Friends of Armenia" strongly condemns the attacks by Azerbaijan and the intention to change the status quo by military means.
"The ceasefire must now be reliably established, as promised internationally after the four-day war of 2016," the statement said.
