ArmInfo. The authorities had several good opportunities to resolve the existing problem around the Constitutional Court. However, all these opportunities were actually  lost. President of Yerevan Press Club Boris Navasardyan expressed  this opinion to ArmInfo.

On September 15, by secret ballot, the Armenian parliament elected  three new judges of the Constitutional Court. 88 deputies of the Bloc  "My Step", "Prosperous Armenia" and "Enlightened Armenia" did not  participate in the voting.

<In my opinion, the solution found is a far from unambiguous  solution. This is a solution, by and large, does not contain a  solution. Because specifically for me, the most problematic members  of the Constitutional Court are Hrayr Tovmasyan and Arevik Petrosyan.  Exclusively due to the fact that they ended up in that judicial  authority on a party trip, "he said.

Meanwhile, the found solution, according to the expert, does not  imply the replacement of the data of the seconded members of the  Constitutional Court. Thus, the ruling majority only replaced three  far from the most problematic members of the Constitutional Court. In  this light, Navasardyan assesses such a decision as superficial and  far from final.

Such an unconvincing path to the formation of a new Constitutional  Court, according to the expert, naturally presupposed at least the  election of three candidates who would not become problematic and  would not cause a wave of criticism. Candidates who would completely  sweep aside all doubts about the authorities' intention to reform the  Constitutional Court as an institution.

<We see that this did not happen either. None of the elected  candidates enjoys public confidence for a variety of reasons. One by  its court verdicts, the other by its very strange behavior in the  Commission for the Prevention of Corruption. The third candidate is  quite possibly a good professional teacher. However, it is very  difficult to imagine him working productively in the Constitutional  Court, "YPC President summed up.

The meeting of judges nominated the chairman of the Court of  Cassation Yervand Khundkaryan as a candidate. Government - Associate  Professor of the Department of Constitutional Law of YSU Edgar  Shatiryan. The President of Armenia re-nominated Artur Vagharshyan,  Head of the Department of State and Law Theory of YSU. 84 people  voted for Yervand Khundkaryan, 2 against, two ballots were declared  invalid. Artur Vagharshyan's candidacy was supported by 86 deputies,  one was against, another ballot was declared invalid. 85 votes for  Edgar Shatiryan, 3 parliamentarians against. New judges have already  been sworn in.
