ArmInfo. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan congratulated the Armenian people on the Independence Day.
According to the government's press service, Pashinyan's message reads, in particular: "Dear people, proud citizens of the Republic of Armenia, proud citizens of the Republic of Artsakh, proud Armenians of the Diaspora!
I congratulate all of us on the occasion of the Independence Day of Armenia.
With a referendum held 29 years ago on this day, our people unanimously consolidated the independence of Armenia. The referendum on September 21, 1991 is one of the most important events in the history of our people, which was initiated back in 1988 by the Artsakh movement.
The results of the referendum proclaimed to the whole world the freedom-loving will of the Armenian people to have an independent and democratic state.
Over the past 29 years, we have faced numerous trials together: war, socio-economic difficulties, emigration, rigged elections, October 27, political repression, March 1, crisis situations and despair. However, all these difficulties could not crush the Armenian people. The nonviolent, velvet, people's revolution of 2018 became an eloquent expression of state optimism, civic determination, which proved that the will of the Armenian people to have a sovereign, free, powerful and happy state is stronger than ever.
Today I will publish the strategy for the transformation of Armenia until 2050, which is not an ossified document. This is our idea of Armenia in 2050 and the goals, as well as a mechanism for achieving these goals through discussion, clarification, decision-making and monitoring the progress of their implementation.
I am sure that in this way we are entering a new stage in our state life, when the state is governed by strategic logic, when every decision made today has strategic goals not only for the current one, but also for 10, 20, 30 years ahead.
It is a mechanism that should make discussions about the future, planning and building the future an integral part of our daily work.
In 1991, we did not know what Armenia in 2020 would be like, and for numerous objective and subjective reasons, we did not give time to formulate our vision of today and make their implementation a daily matter. But time is relentlessly confronting us with this task. We cannot wait for 2050 or 2100 to find out what Armenia will be like, we must plan, design our future today and in accordance with this, out of the many and varied issues of the day, we must give priority to those who connect us with Armenia in 2050, 2100 .
The citizens of the Republic of Armenia, celebrating the 100th anniversary of independence, should see that we thought not only about ourselves, but also about them, should feel our love and responsibility for the future of Armenia, that is, for our present.
I am sure we have sufficient will, skill, unity and wisdom to fill our daily agenda with such work and to provide unshakable institutional conditions for Armenia and the Armenian people. This is the key mission of our generation, and we will fulfill this mission together
Long live freedom, Long live the Republic of Armenia, Long live we and our children who live and will live in a free and happy Armenia
