Israeli diplomat on "Treaty of Abraham": We hope Yerevan will support  the new Middle East

ArmInfo.. Armenia, like Israel, is only too well aware of the unbearable price in human  lives. Ambassador of the State of Israel to the Republic of Armenia  and Moldova Eli Belotsercovsky expressed this point of view,  referring to the trilateral agreement of the "Abraham Treaty"  concluded between Israel, Bahrain and the UAE.

At the same time, the diplomat believes that: "Armenia is known as a  natural bastion of tranquility and stability. However, like Israel,  it had its share of conflicts and victims. Like Israel, it is only  too well aware of the unbearable price in human lives. Like Israel,  it will always follow the path of peace over war. It is precisely  because of this Armenia's natural choice is the camp of peacemakers  over the camp of war- mongers. The peace between Israel and the  Emirates and Bahrein is good for the region, it cools the  expansionist ideas of some regional powers, it strengthens the  coalition for peace, and opens wide opportunities. We are sure that  Armenia welcomes the new developments and looks forward to its  support for the new Middle East."

To note, a few days earlier, Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates  signed an agreement with Israel to normalize relations and establish  diplomatic ties. The signing ceremony took place at the White House.   Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, UAE Foreign Minister  Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan  and Bahraini Foreign  Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani  put their signatures on the  relevant document in the presence of US President Donald Trump.

The agreements were signed within the framework of the previously  concluded "Abrahamic Treaty" with the mediation of the United States.  The title of this document refers to the common past of Islam,  Christianity and Judaism, which have their roots in the first of the  three Jewish patriarchs. A joint statement by the leaders of the  three countries says that the signing of these agreements will allow  all the countries of the Middle East to continue moving towards  peace. The agreement is indeed of a breakthrough nature, since until  today Israel has established official diplomatic relations with only  two Arab countries - Egypt (since 1979) and with Jordan (since 1994).
