ArmInfo. A vote on the draft of the opposition factions "Enlightened Armenia" and "Prosperous Armenia" on the expression of no confidence in the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan was held in the sitting room of the parliament.
This project was rejected. 25 deputies voted <for>, 84 did <against>. The head of the "Enlightened Armenia" faction, Edmon Marukyan, asked why the minister himself was absent from the meeting. To which the speaker of the parliament Ararat Mirzoyan stated that he had contacted the minister and considered that Harutyunyan might not be present at the meeting because of his employment. After that, Iveta Tonoyan, MP from the "Prosperous Armenia" faction, press secretary of the head of the PAP Gagik Tsarukyan, spoke. Tonoyan noted that yesterday during the session Harutyunyan made a number of incorrect statements to the faction and behaved extremely uncivilized.
Note that on September 16, during the discussion of the "Enlightened Armenia> about distrust of the head of the Ministry of Education, <Prosperous Armenia> stated that it also subscribes to this requirement. In his final speech, Harutyunyan allowed himself a hairpin against the PAP and its leader Gagik Tsarukyan, noting that the new educational standards will teach the "Kotayk group" to respect their neighbors and the church, to restrain their hormones, so that there will be no more sexual crimes in churches. This statement caused a flurry of discontent from the "Enlightened Armenia" and shouts from the seats, and at the end of the meeting an emergency briefing was called. During it, the MP from the PAP Naira Zohrabyan stated that the minister had crossed the boundaries of correctness, and that the faction considered it unacceptable to insult the residents of Kotayk region. "There has never been such irrelevance to criticism, under any government. This is aggression against those who express the opposite point of view. No one is obliged to share his opinion on the so-called reforms, which have completely failed, "she said, adding that dirty criticism is unacceptable for an official.
The MP, in particular, said: "Our faction does not express its confidence in Arayik Harutyunyan. The minister, who, during his entire tenure in this position, stood out only by discussing issues of education, science, culture and sports with various transgenders and by deciding to withdraw the subject "History of the Armenian Church" from the school curriculum. The Armenian Apostolic Church is also against this. We will express our lack of confidence in this minister.>
In turn, the head of the "My Step" faction, Lilit Makunts, said that the persons who at one time disseminated disinformation should not now speak out about correctness. "It would be better if this faction drew attention to the behavior of its deputy Gevork Petrosyan, who is spreading misinformation," Makunts stressed.
