ArmInfo.Promises of "hot" autumn in Armenia have long acquired a folklore and even anecdotal character. A similar opinion was expressed to ArmInfo by the deputy of the Armenian parliament, member of the initiative "For the sake of the republic" Arman Babajanyan.
"According to this template from the past, the political field continues to move by inertia today. In reality, the current political life is hot enough and without any promises and threats. It is "heated" by tens, hundreds of systemic problems requiring solution. And the promises of a "hot" autumn, all these pseudo-threats are voiced by the satellites and the entourage of Robert Kocharyan and Serzh Sargsyan. Thus, the probability of a "hot" autumn is minimal, but it is necessary to solve systemic problems, "he stressed.
The most important issue, the main agenda of the upcoming internal political processes in Armenia, according to Babajanyan, is the process of forming the Constitutional Court. The relevant authorities have already nominated their candidates for the CC judge. And now the parliament will have to listen to them and vote on their candidates. The deputy assesses this stage as one of the most important in the process of overcoming the constitutional crisis. At the same time, the authorities should have created the foundation for overcoming it in the legal and legislative planes much earlier.
At the same time, the parliamentarian expressed concern that this process will have to acquire flesh and blood precisely with the nomination of judges and the formation of the CC. It is here that Babajanyan sees processes that completely contradict the logic and content of the slogans proclaimed at the first stage of overcoming the constitutional crisis. In this light, he cited as an example the government's irresponsible nomination of Edgar Shatiryan's candidacy for the post of CC judge.
The parliamentarian assesses this fact as a message from the authorities to society, according to which the government does not care deeply about the legislative branch, and even more so about its trust. Babajanyan did not rule out that if Shatiryan suddenly decides to apply for the post of chairman of the CC, and the other 8 judges express no confidence in him, he may again decide that he has nothing to do in the CC. Especially considering that he has already done the same to the Commission for the Prevention of Corruption.
"I am deeply disappointed with such a frivolous, superficial approach of the authorities to overcoming the constitutional crisis in the country. The power, which is the main responsible for the current situation. The government that has nominated the extremely vulnerable candidate of Vahram Avetisyan for the post of judge of the CC. Thus, the executive branch has created a precedent for other branches. And we all saw how the General Assembly of the Courts, and the President also put forward arbitrary candidates. All three nominated candidates must definitely be rejected. And I, as a deputy, will do everything possible to prevent their election, "Babajanyan summed up.
