ArmInfo. The Armenian-Russian allied relations were established in the early 1990s, and it is surprising that Azerbaijan has just today revealed this geopolitical reality. The Spokesperson of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Anna Naghdalyan stated this on September 2 during a briefing in Yerevan, referring to Azerbaijan's discontent over the sale of arms to Armenia by Russia.
At the same time, the representative of the Armenian Foreign Ministry stated that in the recent period contradictory signals and statements have been heard from the Azerbaijani side, which indicates that the July battles hit not only the Armed Forces, but also the diplomatic potential of Azerbaijan.
"However, no matter how degraded the diplomatic potential of Azerbaijan is, the Armenian side does not intend to stoop to their level. Yes, and I will make ''revelation "- the Armenian-Russian allied relations were established in the early 1990s, and it is surprising that Azerbaijan only today revealed this geopolitical reality ", Naghdalyan added. To note earlier, discontent was voiced from Baku over the sale of arms to Armenia by Russia. This issue was also on the agenda of the meetings of the Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu in Baku. Moreover, Baku said that Shoigu gave a very unconvincing explanation in order to hush up the facts of the supply of weapons to Armenia, stating that Russia allegedly sent some equipment and construction materials for its Armenian base. Answering journalists' questions on August 29, presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev once again expressed dissatisfaction and openly stated that the arguments of the Russian Federation did not suit Azerbaijan, asking to clarify the situation with providing Armenia with weapons.
On August 25, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu at a meeting with Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov in Baku said that Russia is building social facilities at its base in Armenia. "Some insignificant activity is connected with this. And the second part is a conscription campaign. Some of the military personnel had to be returned home, others sent to the base. I repeat once again: our actions and steps were never directed against Azerbaijan and are not directed today," Shoigu assured.
