ArmInfo. The coronavirus pandemic also negatively affected the production of alcoholic beverages in Armenia. Thus, in the first half of 2020, the volume of absolutely all alcoholic beverages produced in Armenia decreased, in particular, brandy, wine (including sparkling wine), beer, vodka and whiskey.
According to the data of the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, 15.1 million liters of brandy were produced during the reporting period, which is 14.7% less than a year ago, against an increase of 44% a year earlier over the same period. The volume of wine produced in Armenia decreased by 31.7% (against growth by 42.8% a year earlier), amounting to 3.9 million liters, including sparkling wine (champagne) - by 33.8% to 167.3 thousand liters. The production of vodka, liqueur and other alcoholic beverages decreased by 20.8% to 1.6 million liters, and beer - by 13.3% to 10.5 million liters.
According to statistics, during the reporting period, Armenia produced 96.4 thousand liters of whiskey, which is 77.2% less than a year ago.
