ArmInfo. It is with great regret that we have to state that Robert Kocharyan fell victim of misinformation from the media, which he owns. Anush Begloyan, a lawmaker of the Armenian parliament from the "My Step" faction, expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.
On July 29, in an interview with "Yerkir Media", "5th Channel" and "Second Armenian TV Channel" TV companies, former President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan criticized practically all directions of the policy of the current authorities. Assessing the policy in Artsakh issue and Russia, as well as social and economic situation in the country as unsatisfactory, the former president noted that "in the current conditions, the political situation in Armenia can change dramatically."
"I should admit that I listened his interview only after your call with a request for an interview. Since the statements of this person have not aroused much interest in me for quite a long time. And this time I had another opportunity to make sure of this. Unfortunately, Mr. Kocharyan continues to reason and reflect in the categories of the past, "she said.
According to the lawmaker, the opinions and assessments given by Kocharyan in this interview are no different from his opinions and assessments of the situation, which existed 20 years ago. The period when he was in power. And they in no way take into account changes in realities, changes in the domestic and foreign policy situation, and finally, changes in the world.
"To our great regret, not only Mr. Kocharyan fell victim to misinformation, but also all politicians sympathizing with him and his outdated views on the global developments. They themselves believed in what they were trying to instill in society in vain. They believed in the misinformation disseminated by their own media. Accordingly, it is not possible to comment on the substantive part of Mr. Kocharyan's interview, namely the flow of misinformation, "Begloyan concluded.
