ArmInfo. The settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is in the interests of all states of the region and countries participating in the negotiation process. This was stated by Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Alexander Grushko in an open interview with First Deputy Director General of TASS Mikhail Gusman.
"If we touch upon the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, we believe that not only Russia, but also other states that are concerned about the establishment and strengthening of stability in this region, should make statements encouraging the parties to establish peace, ceasefire, separate the parties, about which the parties fail to agree. Stabilization of the situation is now in the interests of all participants in the process, "he said, TASS reports.
As the Deputy Minister stressed, the Russian Federation proceeds from the fact that everything that was previously developed by the international community in relation to Nagorno-Karabakh within the framework of the OSCE, the Minsk Group, should remain on the negotiating table. "The current crisis should not lead to a rollback from the progress that has been achieved as a result of titanic efforts, primarily by the Russian Federation, in bringing the prospects of a settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict closer," Grushko said.
"The resolution of this conflict will significantly improve the situation in the region as a whole, including improving bilateral relations between all partners. We call on everyone to take exactly the same position, especially the countries of the Minsk Group," the Deputy Foreign Minister said.
