ArmInfo. In recent years, we have seen an escalation of revanchist sentiments in Turkey. We observe radical Islamism of the Muslim Brotherhood spiced with Pan-Turkism and nostalgia for the Ottoman Empire. A similar opinion was expressed to ArmInfo by Israeli public figure, political scientist Avigdor Eskin.
According to Eskin's forecasts, as internal instability in fraternal Azerbaijan deepens, the Turkish fraternal embrace will consistently shrink to the point of crumbling bones. Among the signs of a situation that allows such predictions to be made, the Israeli political scientist singled out the emerging new wave of Sunni Islam in Turkey. According to his forecasts, this wave will significantly contribute to the hardening of Baku's position in the process of negotiations on Artsakh. Moreover, it is already creating an escalation of the situation on the border with Armenia.
Eskin is convinced that peace and harmony are derivatives of people living in the area of their natural boundaries, which allows them to multiply existing material and spiritual values, based on traditions and talent. In this light, he assesses the acquisition of the Armenian statehood as a reflection of the universal principles of justice. The Israeli political scientist stressed the importance of creating a new, constructive and creative page in the history of Armenia.
"In the case of Armenia, this means an increase in the population. Undoubtedly, the implementation of the existing skills and talents is precisely on the territory of the Armenian statehood. On a practical, if you like geopolitical, global level, the weakening of Armenia, accompanied by the merger of Azerbaijan with Turkish revanchism, is a direct threat to regional stability. A strong Armenia is a guarantee of peace in our entire region, "the Israeli political scientist summed up.
