Ararat Mirzoyan will gladly sign the law on the Constitutional Court  if the President does not do that

ArmInfo. Parliament Speaker Ararat  Mirzoyan said that if the president does not sign the law on  amendments and additions to the law "On the Constitutional Court", he  will sign it himself.

According to Mirzoyan, he has already discussed this issue with the  President. , the Speaker emphasized.

Mirzoyan also stressed that if the President decides to appeal to the  Constitutional Court about this law, then he must do it within 21  days.

It should be noted that on June 30, Armenian President Armen  Sarkissian informed the Speaker of the Parliament Ararat Mirzoyan in  writing that he did not intend to sign the law on amendments and  additions to the law "On the Constitutional Court". To recall, on  June 22, the Armenian parliament in the second and final reading  adopted the draft amendments to the Armenian Constitution through the  constitutional law.

According to the document, the powers of the judges of the  Constitutional Court, who were in positions over 12 years must be  terminated. Judge Alvina Gyulumyan, Felix Tokhyan and Hrant Nazaryan,  will retireand Hrayr Tovmasyan ceases to be the head of the  Constitutional Court. The bill also provides for the procedure for  nominating candidates for the position of judges of the  Constitutional Court. Government will be the first to present its  candidates, followed by the president, and finally, the General  Assembly of Judges.
