Torosyan: Spitak Medical Center joined the fight against COVID-19

ArmInfo. The Spitak Medical Center  has joined the fight against COVID-19 from today. The head of the RA  Ministry of Health Arsen Torosyan said this on his Facebook page.

According to him, the hospital has 120 beds with the ability to  connect to oxygen supply devices. The medical center has already  received the first six patients with coronavirus, and several dozen  more patients will be hospitalized until the end of the day.

As Torosyan noted earlier, measures are continuing in Armenia to  increase hospital capacity to combat coronavirus. In particular,  these works affected hospitals in the regions of the republic, and in  the near future, treatment of patients with coronavirus will be  carried out in the Martuni Medical Center, which is already equipped  with the necessary supplies and equipment. The largest hospital  allocated for treatment with COVID-19 is the Yerevan "Surb Grigor  Lusavorich" MC (about 500 beds).

In total, the number of confirmed cases in Armenia reached 26658,  15036 patients were cured. 459 cases of death from coronavirus were  recorded, of which 6 - over the last day. Another 159 deaths occurred  when patients diagnosed with coronavirus died of other diseases.  Currently, 11010 patients are receiving treatment.
