Representatives of the  Prosperous Armenia faction appealed to the Constitutional Court of  the country, disputing the law on constitutional amendments adopted  by the ruling faction My Step. About this on his page on the social  network Facebook wrote the secretary of the PSA faction Arman  Abovyan.

In particular, the deputy noted: "I want to inform you that the  deputies from the Prosperous Armenia faction, I, as well as the  independent deputy Tigran Urikhanyan, made a statement to the  Constitutional Court within the time period established by law>.

It should be noted that earlier it was assumed that another  opposition parliamentary faction, Enlightened Armenia, would join the  PAP initiative. However, the latter stated that they would do this  only after the Constitutional Court decides on the case of the second  President of Armenia Robert Kocharian. PAP was able to collect the  required number of votes without deputies from the PA faction.

Recall that on June 22, the Armenian parliament in the second and  final reading adopted the draft amendments to the Armenian  Constitution through the constitutional law. According to the  document, the powers of the judges of the Constitutional Court, who  have been in office for more than 12 years, must be terminated. This  morning, the powers of three judges and the chairman of the  Constitutional Court have been terminated. After the vacant posts of  judges are taken, the election of a new head of the Constitutional  Court will take place. This should happen within a maximum of 2  months. The President of Armenia signed the law.
