ArmInfo. There can be no political decision to submit a motion to deprive a lawmaker of immunity, including Gagik Tsarukyan (leader of the Prosperous Armenia party - ed.). Gor Abrahamyan, Advisor to the Prosecutor General of Armenia, wrote about this on his Facebook page.
At the same time, he added that such decisions are made solely within the framework of criminal proceedings - based on how much the collected materials during the investigation are sufficient or not enough according to the prosecutor general in terms of the validity of such a petition. "Therefore, it makes no sense to make hasty statements, and try to politicize those exclusively criminal procedural processes. If there are legal grounds for submitting such a petition to the National Assembly, the prosecutor's office will inform the public about this," said the Advisor to the Prosecutor General.
Earlier, MP from the Prosperous Armenia Party Naira Zohrabyan wrote on her Facebook page that a political decision had been made that on Tuesday, the Prosecutor General will submit a motion to deprive Gagik Tsarukyan of parliamentary immunity and to bring him as the accused. "Prosecutor General Arthur Davtyan still has a chance not to fulfill the political order! No Pasaran," Zohrabyan wrote.
