ArmInfo. In Armenia, the situation with coronavirus continues to deteriorate. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this on May 29 at a briefing, after a meeting of the Commandant's Office.
The Prime Minister informed that, according to the indicators for the spread of coronavirus per 1 million citizens, Armenia has already bypassed Iran and France, and has come closer to Russia. If the situation remains unchanged, then Armenia, according to Pashinyan, may be equal in Italy with the above indicators. As noted, an increase in cases of coronavirus also leads to an increase in the number of patients in a serious and extremely serious condition. Meanwhile, everyone can save hundreds of lives, subject to simple rules: wear a mask, often wash or disinfect hands, and maintain a social distance.
Speaking about the statements that were being circulated recently that in early March, WHO recommended wearing a mask only when communicating with patients, Pashinyan noted that at the first stages there was some confusion around clear anti-epidemiological rules around the world, which explains such contradictions.
Regarding the situation with medical personnel in connection with COVID-19, the Prime Minister announced the current shortage of resuscitation anesthetists. The remaining gaps were filled through the involvement of volunteers and resident physicians. In addition, according to him, due to bonuses, the payments of medical workers involved in the fight against coronavirus were increased 2-3-fold.
In total, 8676 cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the republic, 3297 people recovered, 120 died. Currently, 5214 patients are receiving actual treatment.
