Former MP Arakel Movsisyan`s son will remain under arrest for another  2 months

ArmInfo.The court of general jurisdiction of the Syunik region extended for another 2 months the arrest of son of former MP Arakel Movsisyan (known as Shmays) David  Movsisyan accused in the framework of the criminal case on the murder  of conscript soldier Vahram Avagyan, the defense team of Movsisyan  reports.

At the same time, the defense accused the court of making an illegal  decision. "No investigative steps have been taken that could at least  somehow substantiate the defendant's action," the defense assures.

To recall, in February 2020, David Movsisyan was charged by the  investigating authority in the criminal case of the death of  conscript soldier Vahram Avagyan. A tragic incident occurred on  January 30, 2020 at about 1:15 p.m. in the training center of the  Fefense Ministry: a soldier of the one of units Vahram Avagyan shot  himself in the chest from the <AKM>. It was not possible to save  Avagyan's life. Movsisyan Jr. is accused of violating the charter  rules of relations between military personnel in the absence of  subordination relations between them, which, through negligence, led  to grave consequences (part 3 of article 359 of the RA Criminal Code).
