ArmInfo. Wearing masks in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic will become mandatory in Armenia. On May 21, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at a meeting of the Government of Armenia. It should be noted that all members of the government, including its head, were in protective masks for the first time at a meeting of the Cabinet.
According to Nikol Pashinyan, only if the citizen is in his office alone he/she may not wear protective masks. In all other cases, including in the corridors, wearing masks should be mandatory. The Commandant Office of the State of Emergency, as the prime minister assured, switches to a more intensive mode of work. The country's police will begin to apply tough control measures. The head of government stressed that the night before, returning from work, he drew attention to taxi drivers and passengers who were in a car without masks. Meanwhile, as Nikol Pashinyan recalled, the car is also a closed space.
To solve the problem, the head of government continued, the inspection bodies will also join in, which will establish strict rules for legal entities. In open spaces, the presence of masks will be a prerequisite. Masks should also be a prerequisite when talking to two or more persons.
The Prime Minister called on citizens of the country not to spread false information about the coronavirus, trusting government reports. These messages are reliable and objective, and their changes are associated with a constantly changing situation, which is typical not only for Armenia, but also for the whole world. The only most efficient solution to the problem, Nikol Pashinyan continued, is individual responsibility of each of us. Every citizen of the country must approach the issue with all responsibility, otherwise, the country will face serious problems.
To recall, yesterday the Prime Minister noted that the pace of spread of coronavirus has become very alarming. "If we do not change anything, then by the end of May we will have about 10,000 infected, and by mid-June there will already be 20,000. We need to review the scope of our measures, especially the quality of their implementation. So far, our strategy has been to learn to live a normal life in a coronavirus, "the head of the Armenian government emphasized.
