ArmInfo. We will be able to submit the final draft of constitutional amendments into next year. On May 7, Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan stated this from the rostrum of the parliament.
The Minister noted that the working group that was developing the package of constitutional amendments is now working on a concept. <The concept of constitutional changes will be ready by September. It is then that we will submit it to public discussions>, he said. Badasyan emphasized that due to the spread of coronavirus infection in the country, meetings of the working group are not physically held, however, discussions are held every week on-line. <The working group is trying to manage to prepare a package for public discussions. The range of issues on which changes are planned is very wide>, the minister emphasized.
It should be noted that in 2019, Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan decided to create a commission that will prepare constitutional reforms. The decision provides for the development of constitutional amendments in accordance with the Judicial and Legal Reform Strategy for 2019-2023, approved by the government on December 10, 2019.
